2010 – 1st Quarter Update

2010 has started off with a bang! Saving Abel has kept us busy so far, having Brad master their new album (titled ‘Miss America‘) for Virgin Records, set to release on June 8th. The first single ‘Stupid Girl (Only In Hollywood)‘ is doing well on the charts and we’re excited to have been part of this project, which was produced and mixed by Skidd Mills. Euphonic was also chosen to master the new Saving Abel live USO show, soon to be released on CD and DVDPrimary Wave chose Brad to master Taddy Porter’s debut effort, featuring the amazing singleShake Me‘ – these guys are awesome!

Virgin Record’s Sick Puppies had Brad master their new acoustic EP, featuring ‘Odd One’, ‘Pretender’, ‘So What I Lied’ and ‘You’re Going Down’. Release date is currently unknown, but keep an ear out for these – they’re great! Brad was also chosen to master the new HillKrunk record, which features the North Mississippi Allstars, 8 Ball & MJG, Al Kapone, and Eloise – this is an amazing mix of southern rap, crunk, soul and rock n roll that is truly amazing to hear…

We were truly excited to hear from John Hampson again when Brad was brought in to put the final polish on John’s new album, beautifully mixed by Nick Didia and Paul Umbach. John’s one of the great modern songwriters, so it’s always a pleasure to work with him! We also had the pleasure of cutting new records for Prototype, Kalin Veliov, MasterKey, Tracy Thomas, and many more…

Congratulations to Jully Black for the nomination of her latest album, ‘Black Book’, for a Juno award (RnB Album of the Year). Also, congratulations to Johnny Rawls‘ ‘Ace of Spades‘ which won Soul Blues Album of the Year at the Blues Music Awards. Both were mastered by Brad at Euphonic.

Euphonic celebrated our seventh anniversary in March of this year, and spent some time reflecting back on some of the great artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years such as Alison Krauss, Saving Abel, Black Eyed Peas, the North Mississippi Allstars and Sister Hazel (to name a few). It’s truly been an amazing ride and I’m thankful to all the talented folks who have worked with us, making it a blast to come to work every day!

Never settling for ‘good enough’, we’re always looking for ways to improve every aspect of our business, so early this year we hired the design firm switch creative to update the website and we’re very pleased with the results! We also had our resident genius gear designer Frank Lacy build a new EQ for us, called the Wedge (as it’s the simplest tool in the box). It’s a passive shelving design with a super clean makeup stage – it’s truly amazing how good it sounds!

More big news soon…
